Repair Hurricane Francine Damage to Houma Station and Schriever Ardoyne Farm, USDA-ARS

This is a pre-solicitation notice.

The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Southeast Area (SEA), Sugarcane Research Unit, 5883 USDA Rd, Houma, LA 70360, including the Lab buildings and infrastructure at USDA Ardoyne Farm (501 Bull Run Road, Schriever, LA 70395) has a requirement for a Repair Hurricane Francine Damage Project. The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and materials required to repair the following buildings and infrastructure specified.

This project involves:

1) Restore Agronomy Greenhouse to operative condition and seal top vents (Houma).

2) Repair roof/dormers/vents/gutter liners of Main Office Building (Houma).

3) Replace awning above fire escape at Main Office Building (Houma).

4) Repair handicap ramp at Main Office Building (Houma).

5) Replace lab window in Main Office Building (Houma).

6) Replace siding on Building 25 (Houma).

7) Replace screen doors on League Building (Houma).

8) Repair leaking roof panels and damaged rack/pinion system on Crossing Greenhouse (Schriever).

9) Replace interior fabric screens in Crossing Greenhouse (Schriever).

10) Repair electric pump at back of farm (Schriever).

11) Excavate and rebuild crossing bulkhead on back levee of farm to access pumps (Schriever).

12) Replace weather-stripping on headhouse (Schriever).

USDA ARS SEA intends to issue a Request for Proposals for a firm fixed priced contract. The solicitation is anticipated to be a Total Small Business Set-Aside. The NAICS code for this requirement is 236220 with a size standard of $45.0 M. Contractors shall not directly contact the facility to discuss this requirement. During the solicitation phase, contractors will be provided the opportunity for a site visit and to ask any relevant questions.

This notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute the Request for Proposal (RFP). The Government anticipates issuing an RFP for this requirement on/ about November 15, 2024. All requirement documents will be provided once the solicitation is issued. This notice does not commit the U.S. Government to contract for these services.
