This project is for a general contractor to provide general constructionservices for the buildout pf research laboratory space for incoming faculty. Discovery Park is located at 3940 N. ElmStreet, Denton, Texas 76207.

This project is to convert the existing high-bay room D170 into researchspace to support both wet and dry bench research and a small amount ofadministrative space in support of the laboratories. The labs will be flexible in nature toaccommodate future needs and changes in research. The wet research lab will include ChemicalFume Hoods. The dry bench research labwill be physically separated from the web research lab. To accommodate the proposed renovation, theexisting D170 space will include a structured mezzanine of approximately3,000SF (50’ x 60’). The mezzanine willbe supported by structural steel columns reutilizing existing piers installedbelow the first-floor level. The mezzanineelevation will align with the current Level 2.

All data cabling, card readers, termination and devices, as well as anynew equipment (such as racks) in the newIDF room, will be by UNT vendor and are not part of this contract. Power and architectural finishes per the UNT designguidelines for the new IDF room are included in the scope of work.

Anticipated start date July 2025; the substantial completion of this project is expectedby May 2026.
