Title: Ridgewood Estates Sewer Improvements Project and 82nd Avenue & 113th Street Water Main Improvements Project (PID 003204I & PID 006170A)
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 10/2/2026
Due Date: 10/13/2026
The County is planning the replacement of gravity sewer mains to eliminate flow capacity restrictions and reduce Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSOs). In addition, the County plans to replace aging and deteriorated galvanized, cast iron, and substandard PVC water mains to extend their useful life, improve water quality and system circulation, and provide additional fire hydrants to enhance public safety. The objective of this Contract is to complete and place into service the Ridgewood Estates Sewer Improvements, PID 003204I, and the 82nd Avenue & 113th Street Water Main Improvements, PID 006170A, within the established Contract Time of 380 consecutive calendar days.
Ridgewood Estates Sewer Improvements, PID 003204I: The existing gravity sewer in the vicinity of 82nd Avenue North, Ridgewood Crest, and 113th Street North was evaluated and found to have capacity deficiencies that contribute to an elevated risk of sanitary sewer overflows during heavy rainfall events. The project area has experienced repeated overflow conditions, including reported events associated with heavy rainfall from Tropical Storm Colin and Hurricane Hermine in 2016. The proposed improvements were developed to address this existing collection-system deficiency and include complementary stormwater water-quality improvements through the modified bioswale and improvements to pedestrian connectivity within the project area.
82nd Avenue & 113th Street Water Main Improvements, PID 006170A: Pinellas County Utilities is undertaking water-main replacement improvements along 82 nd Avenue and 113th Street North as part of its effort to replace aging and deteriorated water infrastructure. Within the project limits, the work includes replacement of approximately 680 linear feet of existing 6-inch cast iron water main, together with associated water services, valves, fire hydrants, system connections, and appurtenances. The improvements are intended to improve the reliability and useful life of the potable water distribution system, improve water-quality circulation, and support fire protection.
The two projects were designed as separate PIDs by separate Engineers of Record but occupy overlapping or immediately adjacent construction limits near 82nd Avenue and 113th Street North. Accordingly, they are being advanced as coordinated construction scopes while retaining their separate plans, technical specifications, pay items, measurement and payment requirements, testing, documentation, and other project-specific requirements.
