Overview
Purpose of Proposal:
To purchase a systematic writing program to embed into our social studies program for elementary, middle, and high school grades. Students will have access to quality materials, and will be taught strategies for document analysis, essay development, and defending a thesis statement. With the use of this program, students will effectively communicate their stance on a historical issue with their classmates through structured inquiry, which in turn will prepare them to write in the content area.
