INVITATION FOR BIDS

2025 Abatement Renovations at City Hall

Architect’s Project # 24-063-1

A.Sealed bids will be received by the City of Lockport, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 10:00 AM. local time, at which time all bids will be publicly opened and read. The bid opening will be held at the City of Lockport City Hall, third floor, City Clerk’s Office, 222 E. 9th Street, Lockport, IL 60441. All bids must be received prior to the date and time shown above. Bids transmitted by facsimile or email will not be accepted.

B. A Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the City of Lockport City Hall, 222 East 9th Street, Lockport, Illinois 60441. All Bidders must attend and sign in at the meeting which will also be attended by the Owner, Architect and Engineer.

C. Anticipated Award of Contract date: June 18, 2025

D. Anticipated Start of Abatement: July 18, 2025

E. Anticipated Substantial Completion date: August 1, 2025

F. Lump sum bid proposals will be received for this project at the scheduled time of receipt bids and will be publicly opened on May 28, 2025.

G. Bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check or cash in an amount equal to 10 percent of the base bid amount shall be submitted with the bid. Should a bid bond be submitted, the bid bond shall be payable to the City of Lockport.

H. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to the City of Lockport, City Clerk, 222 E. 9th Street, Lockport, IL 60441 and marked to indicate the following:

1. Name of the submitting contractor
2. Date submitted
3. Indicate clearly 2025 Abatement Renovations at City Hall Architect’s Project # 24-063-1

I. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof, or waive any irregularities or informalities, and to make the award in the best interest of the City.

J. All bidders must comply with applicable Illinois Law requiring the payment of prevailing wages by all Contractors working on public works. Bidder must comply with the Illinois Statutory requirements regarding labor, including Equal Employment Opportunity Laws.

K. The Architect for the above referenced project is TRIA Architecture, Inc., (630) 455-4500.

L. Asbestos specification and inspection reports will be available on May 12, 2025 and can be obtained by contacting Pekron Consulting, Inc. at 219-473-0600. Provide your email address and the documents will be emailed.
