Project Description: The City of Cincinnati is seeking proposals to provide financial literacy training and support youth banking access as part of its Youth to Work (Y2WK) employment initiative. The selected vendor will provide interactive, age-appropriate financial education to youth employees ages 14–17, covering core topics such as banking fundamentals, account management, budgeting, saving, understanding paychecks, and the benefits of direct deposit.
The provider will also be responsible for partnering with financial institutions to support account opening and ensure that youth are banked prior to or during their employment.
The goal is to move youth away from prepaid cards, online payment apps, and parent-owned accounts, and toward personal financial independence.
