Overview
RTD is seeking a qualified, experienced executive search firm to assist the Board in recruiting and selecting a successor GM/CEO. The current GM/CEO will be leaving their position at the expiration of their employment agreement in May of 2027.
The selected firm will partner with the Board to:

Update the GM/CEO job description and executive profile to reflect RTD’s strategic priorities.

Conduct an equitable, transparent national search to produce a diverse slate of highly qualified candidates.

Facilitate a rigorous selection process, including a robust public finalist(s) stage

Conduct professional reference checks and preliminary background reviews, and leadership assessments on late-stage candidates

Oversee the offer and contract negotiations process
RTD will award one single purchase order from this RFQ.
The Regional Transportation District (“RTD” or the “District”) was created in 1969 by the Colorado General Assembly to develop, operate, and maintain a mass transportation system for the benefit of the service area. With a population of more than 3.09 million, the agency’s 2,345 square-mile service area covers all or part of eight counties throughout the Denver metro area.
RTD is governed by a 15-member Board of Directors (“Board”), each representing a geographic district of more than 200,000 residents. The Board appoints a General Manager and Chief Executive Officer (“GM/CEO”) and delegates to the GM/CEO the daily operation and management of the agency and its more than 3,100 dedicated employees. Supported by a Leadership Team of approximately 10 members who serve as leads for their respective departments or work units, the GM/CEO is responsible for agency performance and the delivery of mass transit services, programs, and projects to the region.
