The work involved includes the following:

Rehabilitate Midfield Connecting Taxiway C

A digital download of Project Documents and other related contract information may be ordered online at

www.hwlochner.com . These project documents may be downloaded for $60.00. Payment must be made directly

to QuestCDN. This cost includes access to online bidding. There will be no refunds. The QuestCDN project

number is 10118406. Bid quantities and schedules may be viewed prior to purchase under the “view bid

documents” section on QuestCDN.

Plans and Specifications are on file and may be examined at the office of the City Engineer, 120 N. 6th Street,

Independence, Kansas, 67301, and at the office of the Consulting Engineers, Lochner, 15717 College Boulevard,

Lenexa, Kansas 66219.

Each online bid submittal must include a PDF copy of a Bid Bond executed by a Surety Company in an amount

not less than five (5) percent of the total bid made payable to the City of Independence and uploaded to

QuestCDN as part of the bid submittal process.

The Bidder must supply all the information required by the proposal forms and specifications and must bid on

all items of every base and alternate. The City of Independence reserves the right to waive any informality in, or

to reject any or all portions of, the various bid items. No proposal may be withdrawn for a period of one hundred

twenty (120) calendar days from the opening thereof.

A non-mandatory online pre-bid meeting for all prospective bidders will be held via Microsoft Teams at 10:00

A.M. (CDT) Wednesday, May 13th, 2026. You may request an invitation to the pre-bid meeting by contacting

The Owner has established a contract performance time of forty-four (44) calendar days from the date of
the Notice to Proceed. Phase 1 shall be completed in thirty-five (35) calendar days or less, Phase 2 shall be
completed in seven (7) calendar days or less, Phase 3 shall be completed in one (1) calendar day or less,
and Phase 4 shall be completed in one (1) calendar day or less. All project work shall be substantially
completed within the stated timeframe. This project is subject to liquidated damages as prescribed herein.
The phases may not run concurrently and shifting of contract time between phases will not be permitted.
The Contractor agrees to fully complete the Project within forty-four (44) calendar days of the
commencement date stated within the Notice to Proceed, unless an extension of time is granted by Sponsor
in accordance with the provisions of Section 80, Paragraph 7, of the General Provisions.
It is the intent of the Owner to issue the Notice-To-Proceed (NTP) as soon as practical after the Award of
Contract. The anticipated early NTP date is March 2027 and the late NTP date is September 2027.
