MCNEIL ARCHAEOLOGICAL SURVEY
Introduction:
The Alaska Department of Fish and Game is requesting information from qualified vendors to help determine
the cost and vendor availability for an archaeologist to conduct surveys of the McNeil River State Game
Sanctuary field camp.
Background Information:
The Alaska Department of Fish and Game would like to contract an archaeologist to conduct surveys of the
McNeil River State Game Sanctuary field camp in support of a determination of eligibility for the National
Register of Historic Places.
Location:
McNeil River State Game Sanctuary- ADF&G field camp; 59.12190 N, 154.23910 W; Township 12 South, Range
29 West, Section 19, Seward Meridian.
Scope of Work:
Survey work would entail travel to the remote field camp, likely via float plane, with at least an overnight
stay. Department staff would accompany the vendor on site. Post field survey work would entail providing a
report detailing findings for concurrence by the State Historic Preservation Office. Reporting would need to
be completed by spring of 2027. Potential site visits could occur in fall (late September to mid-October) 2026
or spring (May) 2027.

dfg.contracting@alaska.gov indicating you would be willing to participate in a competitive solicitation, and
provide an estimated budget or budget range for this project.
NOTICE: This RFI does not extend any rights to prospective vendors or obligate the state to conduct a
solicitation or purchase any goods or services.

Notice to Vendors:
Pursuant to Administrative Order 352, (a) any person or business determined to support or participate in a
boycott of the State of Israel will be disqualified from any procurement related to this Request for
Information; and (b) the support of or participation in a boycott of the State of Israel by a person or
business contracting with the State of Alaska under AS 36.30 constitutes grounds for termination of the
contract.
Administrative Order 352 does not apply to a contract if the person or business has fewer than 10
employees; or the amount to be paid under the contract, excluding renewals and options available under
the contract, is less than $100,000.
