Subject: Award a Sole Source Contract to the American University

FAR 6.302-1 - Only one responsible source (except brand name)

The United States Military Academy (USMA), Office of the Dean and the Mission & Installation Contracting Command (MICC) at West Point, NY intent to award a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other services will satisfy agency requirements for lodging accommodations for the USMA’s Academic Individual Advanced Development (AIAD) intern summer project. The objective of this requirement is to provide housing accommodations for approximately 100 cadets, at the American University (AU) Intern Housing Program in Washington, DC during their summer internship project.

This notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 5.101(a)(1) requiring the dissemination of information on proposed contract actions. This is a notice of intent to award a sole-source contract, and is not a request for competitive proposals.

The proposed contract is for the American University

The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), pursuant to the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 13.501(a)(2)(ii), for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold, contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.

The Mission Installation Contracting Command - West Point on behalf of the United States Military Academy (USMA) – Office of the Dean intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract to (American University, Washington, DC 20016-8003) for AIAD Intern Summer Housing.

The anticipated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 721110 with the associated size standard of $40 M.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to meet all aspects of the requirement. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
