Scrap Metal Services

The City of Farmington, New Mexico, is seeking companies interested in providing scrap metal pickup and recycling services, primarily for aluminum, steel, iron, brass, and copper. In addition, lead-acid batteries and electronic e-waste are also collected on-site for recycling.

The normal hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The awardee will be responsible for all loading and unloading of material.

The Farmington Electric Utility Service contributes a significant amount of copper, aluminum, and other materials.

Appropriate roll-off bins for all materials are to be kept at the Municipal Operations Center, with select roll-offs placed at appropriate facilities within the City of Farmington. Bins are to be collected and returned during normal business hours in a timely manner, with the materials collected appropriately recycled or disposed of.

Payments for the collected materials are to be issued to the City of Farmington per the details of the contract, at set percentage rates with reference to an approved market like Davis Index, AMM, or a similar market aggregator.

The City reserves the right to reject any and/or all Letters of Interest, to waive technicalities, to re-advertise, to proceed otherwise when the best interest of said City will be realized hereby.
