Description
Oregon State University intends to contract for the provision of an upright aluminum walk-up meteorological tower from Upright Scaffold USA, LLC as a sole source due to required compatibility with existing infrastructure. The selected tower must meet critical requirements including a height of 78–100 feet, adequate load rating to support a minimum of 150 square feet of antennae area at 130 mph wind load, and a safe internal stair system for access without external climbing. It must provide multiple work platforms for simultaneous use, allow multi-decade deployment without corrosion, and be deployable in remote locations with minimal ecosystem disturbance under special use permit restrictions. Components must be light enough for transport without heavy equipment, and the tower must minimize vibration to prevent interference with high-frequency sonic anemometers. Additionally, it must integrate with existing maintenance tools used at OSU’s Oregon cluster of AmeriFlux sites. An entity may appeal this determination in accordance with OSU Standard 03-010, Section 5.17 no later than the closing date indicated on the website. Appeals must be submitted to Procurement, Contracts and Materials Management at procurement@oregonstate.edu by November 28, 2025 at 3:30 PM PST.
