Description of the Work: The Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following:

Package A – S.M. NORTH HIGH SCHOOL KITCHEN HOOD

Base Bid:

Shawnee Mission North High School - The Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following:

Demolish the existing Kitchen’s non-compliant Type II hood and replace it with a new code-compliant Type I and Type II hood. Remove and replace affected ceiling tile and grid to the limits shown. Demolish and repair portions of an exterior wall to install a wall mounted exhaust vent. Cut, demolish and replace the existing floor to provide a new floor sink. Provide other Mechanical and Electrical project requirements as shown on the drawings and in the specifications. Add a new overhead door on the school grounds.

Package B – FLOORING REPLACEMENT

Base Bid:

Shawnee Mission Christa McAuliffe Elementary School - The Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following:

Flooring demolition includes removal of existing flooring at all locations shown on the drawings and prep/repair floor slabs – including crack repair as occurs – to receive new flooring. The project also consists of new carpet tile, new rubber tile flooring, and new resilient base.

Shawnee Mission West High School - The Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following:

Flooring demolition includes removal of existing flooring at all locations shown on the drawings and prep/repair floor slabs – including crack repair as occurs – to receive new flooring. The project also consists of new walk-off carpet tile, new rubber tile flooring, and new resilient base.

Add Alternate No. 1:

Provide new rubber tile at sink locations in each classroom getting new carpet as shown on the drawings.

Addendum notification cannot be guaranteed; it is each Contractor's responsibility to verify that all Addenda are received by the Contractor.

Time of Completion: The Work shall be completed according to the following:

All scopes of work at all the schools listed – Base bid and selected Alternate bid scopes of work:

Start Date 29 May 2026

Substantial Completion Date 20 July 2026

Final Completion Date 31 July 2026

Definitions for Substantial Completion, Final Completion, and terms of Liquidated Damages are identified in Section 01 10 00 Summary of Work.

Receipt of Bids: Bid forms are to be received by the date and time at the location indicated in this Invitation to Bid. Any change in bid time or date will be by Addendum issued to registered plan holders via Drexel Technologies’ eDistribution Plan Room.

Bid Security: In the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

Bid Opening: Bid forms will be publicly opened and tabulated in the Shawnee Mission Public Schools, Center for Academic Achievement, at 8200 West 71st Street, Shawnee Mission, KS 66204 following receipt of bids at the time previously indicated. All interested parties are invited to attend.

No award will be announced at that time.

All Contractors may purchase additional printed sets or partial sets of bidding documents for a fee made payable to Drexel Technologies, Inc.

Examination of the Documents: Bidding documents will be on file at Drexel Technologies, Inc. and may be examined, during normal business hours, or viewed online at www.drexeltech.com , in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

The bidders list will be available from Drexel Technologies, Inc.

Pre-Bid Conference: A Mandatory Pre-Bid conference for General Contractors will be held at 11:00 AM, 04 March 2026 at Shawnee Mission School District, Center for Academic Achievement, located at 8200 West 71st Street, Shawnee Mission, KS 66204. The Scope of Work will be reviewed at that time. All subcontractors and suppliers are strongly encouraged to attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting. Site visits may occur after this meeting to the various schools.

If needed, Addendum #1 would be delivered to the plan holders and Drexel Technologies, Inc. on 02 March, 2026.
