Project Description: This program would strive to assist identified juveniles in attaining competency so that capable individuals could move their cases through the court system. This would allow the court to achieve community protection, accountability, and competency development while also lessening the burden on the court, the district attorney’s office, the juvenile probation department, and the public defender’s office by eliminating court cases that would otherwise occupy the court’s time.
