Solicitation Description:

This Description of Services outlines the requirements and expectations for Contractors that will provide laboratory courier Services within the State of Texas. The DSHS Public Health Laboratory (“Laboratory”) provides Services that impact the preservation of life in the State of Texas including, but not limited to, examination and analysis of human blood, bodyfluids, tissues, and cells. The Laboratory provides approximately 421 health care facilities (referred herein as “Submitter Sites”) in Texas with courier Services that allow them to arrange for efficient and reliable transportation of specimens to the Laboratory in Austin, Texas. Timely and safe transportation is essential in ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of the specimens which is critical for patient care,research, and public health.
