Dredge Goetz Discharge Hose (Quantity 2)

1. General Information.

1. Intended use. The hose, described herein will be used to conduct dredge slurry from the rigidly fixed dredge discharge pipe of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Dredge Goetz to the rigidly fixed pipe of a pontoon string. The hose is intended to provide all the flexure necessary to connect a swinging hydraulic cutter dredge to a fixed discharge line supported on pontoons. The dredge discharge pipe has an internal diameter of 20 inches.

1. Slurry. The hose will carry a water and sand slurry consisting of 0 to 40% medium grain size sand.

1. Line pressure. The hose shall be capable of safely withstanding an operating pressure of 200 psi. The safety factor used by the manufacturer in the design of the hose to ensure safe operation at 200 psi shall be specified by the offeror in their quote. The hose will not be subject to a vacuum.

1. Diameter. The hose inside diameter shall be 20 inches. The diameter shall be measured at the inside of the lining.

1. Length. The length of the hose shall be 24 feet when measured from inlet flange to outlet flange.

1. Flexure. The hose shall be capable of flexing to accommodate 40 degrees of swing to the starboard of centerline and 40 degrees to the port of centerline by the dredge while the pontoon remains stationary.

1. Hose flanges. The manufacturer shall supply permanently affixed steel inlet and outlet flanges suitable for the use intended. The flanges shall be vulcanized to the hose. The recommended method of securing the hose flange to the mating flange shall be explained in the manufacturer’s quote. The flanges shall be rubber lined. The rubber shall extend from the inner tube through the flange and up the flange face.

1. Hose tensile load. Hose tensile load caused by the drag of the pontoon string will be less than 10,000 pounds. Most of the tensile load will be carried by a pivoting hitch that connects the pontoons to the dredge.

1. Packaging and Shipping. The hoses shall be packed in a manner suitable to provide protection from damage during transport and UV rays during storage.

1. Warranty. The offer’s quote shall specify the terms of the standard commercial warranty supplied with the proposed hose. The warranty will be honored at any authorized service center in the country or current location of the Goetz dredge fleet.

Limber Line Discharge Hose (Quantity 10)

1. General Information.

1. Physical Support Branch, Dredge Goetz Division requests the award of a contract for the procurement of Limber Line Pipeline Hoses. The Limber Line Pipeline Hoses are critical to dredging operations. The type of slurry that the dredge Goetz encounters is mostly fine to medium coarse sand.

1. The only work authorized is identified in this Statement of Work (SOW). Any additional changes must be approved by the contracting office and are required to have prior written approval from the Contracting Office.

1. Packing & Shipping. Hoses shall be packaged in a suitable manner to provide protection from damage during transport and UV damage.

1. Warranty. The contractor and/or company shall specify the terms of the standard commercial warranty supplied with the Limber Line Hoses. Any required warranty work will be honored anywhere in the country or within the operating area of the Dredge Goetz.
