Description of Work:
Global Affairs Canada (GAC) is a Government of Canada department with approximately 15,000 employees, many of whom work in over 170 missions worldwide. GAC's main mandates include developing and implementing foreign policy, fostering international trade and commerce, providing consular services, and delivering international humanitarian, development, and peace assistance. The department's work is essential for maintaining Canada's global influence and ensuring the well-being of Canadians abroad.
To continue fulfilling its mission effectively, Global Affairs Canada recognizes the need to better serve its clients while embracing new and effective technologies and improving processes. In an era where digital solutions are integral to service delivery, it is crucial to enhance efficiency, reliability, and security.
GAC’s IT Transformation Plan addresses these needs in multiple ways. Among other initiatives, the transformation plan outlines the need to reduce red tape, improve processes, reduce the technical or technological deficit, and modernize our IT capabilities.
As part of SIS, the Service Management team (SISP) is responsible for maintaining and developing ITSM-related solutions, services, best practices, and reporting capabilities to meet the IT service offering needs of the department and maintain an efficient, robust, and secure solution.
