Description:

The City of Cortez is seeking a contractor able to repair damaged components of the existing skatepark. The total area in need of repair is estimated at 755 square feet. The City is also interested in a resurfacing solution for the whole 9000 square foot area of the skate park. The contractor selected for this bid will be expected to work alongside a consultant with expertise in skatepark construction. The contractor will provide the consultant the following for review and discussion: methods of grinding down current concrete for repair, concrete type, strategy for repair, plans for a skateable surface (not too slippery, improves transitions throughout skatepark), plans for coating of skatepark, plans for ongoing (annual) maintenance, plans to provide current repairs with the best chance of lasting 2+ years.

The process to be used in the selection of the General Contractor is the Competitive Sealed Best Value Bidding method comprised of two steps as described in Section I (H).

Qualifications:
Notice is hereby given to all interested parties that all firms will be required to meet all minimum requirements to be considered for this project. Interested bidders should be prepared to show evidence of the following to be considered as qualified, as a minimum:
1.        Provide Concrete Specific General Contracting services within the last three (3) years for at least two (2) projects each in excess of $20,000 (hard costs), utilizing the expertise present in their Colorado Office; and
2.        Demonstrated specific General Contracting experience in projects of similar scope and complexity.
3.        Firm must be fully insured with both automotive and comprehensive liability insurance and able to add the city as additionally insured.
