QUESTIONS/CLARIFICATIONS
1.
Question: If I need an additional site visit is it possible to make that happen?
Answer: The district has agreed to provide an additional site visit on 5/27 @
10AM.
2.
Question: Is the district okay with moving the pump over a few feet to help with
getting the new chiller installed sooner or would the district like the new pad in
the same existing location?
Answer: The district requests the new pump to be installed in the same location
as the existing pump. The existing concrete pad will be reused and extended as
described in the addendum items above.
3.
Question: Can we get an explanation on why the single point rather than dual
point? If the manufacturer cannot accommodate a single point connection is it an
acceptable modification to return to dual point connection?
Answer: The approved manufacturers listed in the specification each require
only a single-point electrical connection. Additionally, selecting an air-cooled
chiller with a single-point connection allows reuse of the existing overcurrent
protection with minimal disruption to the current installation. By contrast, a dual-
point connection air-cooled chiller would require a second overcurrent protective
device in the MCC or at the branch-circuit tap.
