The City of Aurora is sending this Request for Proposal (RFP) for our annual Independence Day fireworks
display scheduled for Friday, July 4, 2025, with a severe weather reschedule date of Saturday, July 5,
2025. The fireworks should begin at dusk (approximately 9:45 p.m.) at the Pioneer Baseball Fields
located at 120 West Pioneer Trail Aurora, OH 44202 behind Aurora Cemetery.
Scope of Services:
1. Submit a written proposal for an aerial fireworks show for which the budgeted amount is not to
exceed $26,000. This price reflects a show of approximately 17 minutes.
2. Utilize in the show a minimum shell size of 2.5” and a maximum shell size of 5” plus cakes which are
1” -1.5” in diameter in boxes of 100-150 shots each. Completion of the enclosed worksheet
documenting the proposed use of above-stated devices as well as a description of the shell content
is mandatory.
3. Include in your proposal either a paragraph describing your creative vision for the show, a link to a
video depicting a comparable show, or both.
4. It is recommended that each presenter visit the firing location prior to submitting a proposal. NOTE:
5” shells must be set off from asphalt path, in a different location than the rest of the show.
5. In the event the show is rescheduled for the severe weather reschedule date, the city will provide
overnight security.
6. In addition, the city will pay any permit fees. No pyrotechnic material is to be deployed before the
day of the show.
7. All items shall be delivered FOB to the destination of The Pioneer Baseball Fields, 120 W. Pioneer
Trail, Aurora, OH 44202 and delivery costs and charges (if any) must be included in the total
proposed price.
8. Vendor must provide the City of Aurora with a $10,000,000 Public Liability Insurance naming the
City of Aurora and all their officers, agents, and employees as additional insured. Vendor must
provide state workers’ compensation insurance and commercial transportation insurance for every
on-site worker.
9. The service supplied to the City of Aurora must conform in all respects to the standards set forth in
the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 and its amendments and the State of Ohio and the
failure to comply with this condition will be considered a breach of contract. Please list any OSHA
and/or ATF citations incurred in the last five years. A representative from the selected company
should attend a security meeting before the show. Date and time will be announced.
10. Please include with your proposal a list of references in Ohio for which you have provided a
comparable scope of services.
11. Prices are to remain firm through July 5, 2025. Units must be indicated on the enclosed worksheet.
12. Proposals will be judged based on the following criteria: shell count, shell content, design creativity,
safety record, and performance history. The city reserves the right to accept any proposal it deems
most favorable.
