Sealed bids will be received by the Village of Sussex, Village Clerk until 10:00 a.m. Central Time on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the Village of Sussex, N64 W23760 Main Street, Sussex, WI 53089.

Bids submitted after this time will not be accepted. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud immediately after specified closing time. Interested parties are invited to attend.

If a Bid is received by mail or other delivery system, the sealed envelope containing the Bid shall be enclosed in a separate package plainly marked on the outside with the notation, “BID ENCLOSED – CORKY CURTIS TRAIL PROJECT” and the name and address of the Bidder must be marked on the

outside of the envelope.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project is located in wooded area along Sussex Creek between Silver Spring Drive and Clover Drive. The work consists of clearing and grubbing, earthwork, placement of aggregates and pavements, trail construction and bridge along and across Sussex Creek.

• HMA Pavement, 5 LT, 2-Inch (Driveway): 25 SY
• HMA Pavement, 5 LT, 3-Inch (Path): 255 SY
• Concrete Pedestrian Curb, 8-Inch, Including Base: 94 LF
• Concrete Retaining Wall, 12-Inch, Including Base and Stainless-Steel Railing: 84 LF
• Remove and Replace Concrete Driveway & Sidewalk, 7-Inch: 18 SY
• Trail Bridge: 1 EA
• Signing: 1 EA
• Erosion Control: 1 LS
• Traffic Control: 1 LS
• Construction Staking: 1 LS
• Restoration: 260 SY

This project is part of the DNR Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program Acquisition and Development of Local Parks.

BASIS OF BIDS REQUIRED:

This is a unit price contract. The estimated quantities on the Bid Form are inserted only for the purpose of determining the low bidder. Bids shall be on the form provided for that purpose and according to the Bidding Requirements. All Work is included in a single prime contract.

PROJECT SCHEDULE:

Project is to be ready for Substantial Completion on or before September 4, 2026.

Project is to be ready for Final Completion on or before September 18, 2026.

Prequalification’s of prospective prime bidders is not required.
