Install OFCI Shade Structures, Playground and Site Improvements at McPherson Magnet School

NOTICE INVITING FORMAL BIDS
NOTICE, PLACE AND DUE DATE, PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Orange Unified School District,
"District", will receive electronically-sealed bids pursuant to Public Contract Code (PCC) section 1601
through the PlanetBids Portal https://pbsystem.planetbids.com/portal/15578/portal-home "Vendor Portal"
prior to 2:10 pm on September 22, 2026 "Due Date" for Bid No. 2627-984 Install OFCI Shade
Structures, playground and site improvements at McPherson Magnet School. This project includes but is
not limited to installation of owner furnished contractor installed (OFCI) shade structures, playground,
and related concrete site improvements.
DOCUMENTS AVAILABILITY: This public works prevailing wage rate Project (Labor Code 1720) is
further detailed in the Project documents, is available only through the Vendor Portal. The Project
documents will govern should there be any conflict with the notice.
LICENSES, DIR REGISTRATION, PREQUALIFICATIONS: Prime contractor must possess a valid
CSLB Class A "General Engineering" OR B "General Building" California State Contractor's
License (Cal. Code 1725.2). The contractor performing the playground installation, whether the prime
contractor or a subcontractor, must possess a valid CSLB C-61/D-12 "Synthetic Products" and/or C-
61/D-34 "Prefabricated Equipment" specialty classification, as applicable to the scope of work being
performed. All contractors and subcontractors performing public works labor must be registered with the
Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) as required by applicable law.
The Contract Time is 75 days. CONTRACTOR should consult General Conditions, Supplementary
Conditions, Special Conditions, and General Requirements regarding Milestones and Liquidated Damages.
MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE: All prospective contractors must be on time and attend the
entire pre-bid conference held at 09:00 AM on September 9, 2026, at McPherson Magnet School, 333 S
Prospect St, Orange, CA 92866. Bidders shall meet in front of the administration building. Failure to
attend the entire conference or tardiness will render the bid ineligible.
BASIS FOR AWARD: District shall award the Contract, if it awards it at all, to the lowest responsive and
responsible bidder based on the total Project award amount and who provides all the required bonds,
insurance, and documents as required in the Project documents. The Board reserves the right to reject any
and all bids and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received or in the bidding.
