Description
The City wants to achieve a diverse range of pre-approved, construction-ready, infill housing designs from qualified architectural firms. Varied designs, 6 to 8, will be sought to suit a variety of lot typologies across the city, ensuring increased applicability and housing diversity. The designs developed are intended to focus on buildability, economic viability and alignment with City regulations and guidelines. By establishing a variety of pre-approved designs, builders, developers, and owners should experience a streamlined approval process, reduced risk, incentivized construction of infill housing, and ultimately increased housing supply. The commissioning of complete design packages is subject to program budget constraints. Qualified firms may be awarded the opportunity to create one or multiple designs, at the City’s sole discretion. Sub-consultants may be utilized as needed to produce the complete designs . Compensation will be provided for the development for each standardized design package. Furthermore, architectural firms will retain the right to market and sell these commissioned designs
