Description:

The RFP is an invitation to submit offers for The Supply and Install of a Multi-Analyte Profiling (xMAP) Instrument, as further described herein.

The xMAP Instrument will be used evaluate leukocytes sorted from the brains of SARS-CoV-2-infected brains for detection of 500 protein targets at the pg/ml level, or for a combination of protein and mRNA targets, the latter allowing us to determine whether alterations in gene expression leads to upregulation of the proteins they encode. For these studies, immune and neural cell kits may be used for the same samples, defining neuroimmune signatures at peak infection and recovery. As the detection of proteins can be accomplished in small sample sizes (6.3 μl), human and mouse sera and CSF may also be evaluated at these time-points to correlate proteins identified at peak infection with those that persist during recovery. Immune and neural cells may also be evaluated for phospho-proteins and other signaling molecules allowing for disease characterization, pathway detection, and biomarker discovery.
