Parkland County

Parkland County currently retains volunteer (paid on-call) firefighters to supplement our standard Fire Services departmental composition and provide expanded response to emergency situations as required. As these resources do not qualify for our standard Group Health, Dental and Life Insurance benefits due to inconsistency in their employment status and hours of service, Parkland County is seeking alternative options for coverage for this unique but vital component of our team. The supplemental Group Health, Dental and Life Insurance provider should offer a comprehensive and flexible benefit packages that can be managed by Parkland County, but at rates that are competitive and manageable to the volunteer firefighters themselves. This will allow for the County to address the shortfall in current coverage, and provide a predictable option that can support recruitment and retention strategies.
