Approved Brands Approved brands are listed on the line item tab for each bid line. DOT is allowing for pre-bid substitutions. Responders must submit the Pre-Bid Substitution Request for Approval of Material or Product Form, including alternate brand specifications for purposes of comparison to approved brands based on the same or higher level of performance. The form can be found in the attachment tab and instruction are located in the activity tab as well as on the form. All submissions must need to be received on or before the date and time listed on the form to be considered for evaluation. Estimated Quantities The exact number of items purchased is dependent on funding and Iowa DOT final approval. At this time, it should be understood there are no guaranteed minimum purchases and actual purchases may vary considerably. Award Award will be by line item. It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible contractor whose submitted quote is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. Other factors may also include a comprehensive review of bidders past work performance, and work capacity. Communication: Until a contract is awarded the sole point of contact for the solicitation is the Purchasing Agent identified in the solicitation. All questions must be directed solely to the Purchasing Agent listed in the bid opportunity. We encourage vendor to upload all questions on or before the question cut off due date and time in ION wave. Responses to questions will be communicated out to vendors via DOT’s ION wave bid system. Bid Responses shall be submitted within DOT’s ION wave Bid System or signed and prepared in ink or typewritten in the solicitation documents provided.
