Purchase of Cation and Anion Ion exchange resins

Description:

Lee County Public Utilities seeks to execute a single-source procurement for SSTC60 and A860 IX cation and anion ion exchange resins used in the Green Meadows Water Treatment Plant by Purolite LLC. These resins are used to remove iron and organics from raw water by enhancing softening and demineralization.

Justification for Single/Sole Source Acquisition:

Purolite LLC is the sole manufacturer of the proprietary SSTC60 and A860 IX ion exchange resins and offers the products directly to the County, including providing annual resin analysis reports at no cost, which are essential for monitoring resin condition and determining when replacement is necessary.

Recommended Procurement Approach:

For the reason(s) stated above, Lee County Procurement Management intends to utilize the single-source procurement method to purchase from Purolite to supply the above.
