|
The 70-acre harvest area is composed of a 7-acre thinned slash pine stand, 15-acre longleaf pine and hardwoods area, and the remainder are hardwoods and various sparse pines (48 acres). This 48-acre area was highly damaged by the recent hurricanes. The slash pine stand and longleaf pine/hardwood area are mostly intact.
Type of Harvest:
This sale is a clear-cut of pine and hardwoods within the sale boundary. Chipping of non-merchantable hardwoods, hardwood tops, and pine tops is required for this sale. Any downed timber that can be mechanized, chipped, or otherwise processed is required for this sale.
