Scope of work for Deck Covering, Vinyl, Demolition and Replace PR #11702PR250000363





Purpose and objective:



CGC WAESCHE seeks to purchase materials and service for flooring upgrades to the Wardroom, First Class Lounge, and Crew’s Lounge to have finished by June 13th, 2025.





Scope: This work item describes the requirements for the Contractor to replace deck flooring as identified in Table 1 with Mannington from Amtico Spacia Decking.

The contractor shall:




  • Protective measures - general. The Contractor shall furnish and install all protective coverings to seal off and protect all non-affected vessel's components, equipment, and spaces in the vicinity of the work area against contamination during the performance of work. Upon completion of work, the Contractor shall remove all installed protective measures, inspect for the presence of contamination, and return all contaminated equipment, components, and spaces to original condition of cleanliness.

  • Interferences. The Contractor shall handle all interferences in accordance with SFLC Std Spec 0000, paragraph 3.3.5 (Interferences). Known interferences include, but are not limited to the below listed:

    • Chair Securing Clamps






  • Visual inspection. The Contractor shall perform a visual inspection of all existing underlayment following vinyl and carpet removal. Submit a CFR.

  • The Contractor shall perform all tasks specified in SFLC Std Spec 6341 and herein, to install a new covering system in the location(s) specified in Table 1.

  • To minimize distribution to Cutter’s personnel, the Contractor shall propose a work plan to the Coast Guard Inspector.

  • Removal. The Contractor shall remove and dispose existing vinyl and carpet and cove base in accordance with SFLC Std Spec 0000 and SFLC Std Spec 6341 at the location specified in the Table 1.

  • Cleaning. Power tool clean to bare metal all steel decks in the work areas in accordance with SSPCSP11 (or SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2 with dust control). Surfaces shall be completely free of corrosion products, mill scale, dirt, oil, grease, moisture, deteriorated paint, and other surface contaminants.

  • In the presence of the Coast Guard Inspector, conduct a visual inspection of the clean deck in the work area for corrosion and deterioration. Submit a CFR to the Coast Guard Inspector.3.3 Vinyl strip Amtico Specia installation. The Contractor shall install Vinyl strip Amtico Specia system at the location specified in Table 1. The Contractor shall prepare existing deck surfaces for Vinyl strip Amtico Specia installation in accordance with SFLC Std Spec 6341 and manufacturer’s instruction.

  • The Contractor shall provide and install self level underlayment to achieve level foundation. Underlayment shall be installed so that all installed deck fittings are flush with final decking.

  • The Contractor shall provide and install cove base around entire perimeter of the compartment.

  • Cove base. Install cove base molding at corners between deck and bulkhead in the work areas specified in Table 1 where applicable in accordance with SFLC Std Spec 6341. Unless otherwise specified, apply caulking compound at other corners.

  • Touch-up preservation. The Contractor shall prepare and coat all new and disturbed exterior and interior surfaces to match existing adjacent surfaces, in accordance with SFLC Std Spec) 6310. Abide by all touch-up requirements outlined in SFLC Std Spec) 6310.
