Overview

The La Crosse County Solid Waste Department is requesting bids for crushing asphalt and concrete material at the La Crosse County Landfill site 3240 Berlin Drive La Crosse WI 54601. Please coordinate any visits and staging by contacting 608-790-1944

1. Material to be crushed on site.

2. Material to be crushed to 1 ¼” minus size.

3. Water is available on site.

4. Any departure from these specifications must be noted by bidder.

5. Work can begin after Public Works Committee approves bid on June 8th, 2026 and work must be completed by August 10th, 2026.

6. Bids must be in sealed envelopes, plainly marked "County Crushing Bid" and delivered to the Solid Waste Department C/O Jadd Stilwell, Director 3200 Berlin Drive La Crosse, WI 54601 by May 21st, 2026 by 11:00 AM.

7. Bids will be publicly opened and read on Thursday, May 21st, at 11:05 a.m. at the Solid Waste Department at 3200 Berlin Drive La Crosse, WI 54601.

La Crosse County reserves the right to reject all bids, or to accept whichever bid the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee deems to be in the best interest of La Crosse County and to waive any bidding technicality or irregularity. Crushing quantities are estimates and are subject to change as material comes in. Final quantity calculations can be determined by two options (Identify method in bid):

Option 1 – preferred – Scale all crushed material

Option 2 – Contractor and Owner perform pre-and post-surveys and determine quantities based on survey volumes.
