Building 686 Reduced Pressure Detector Assembly Installation Project

This project consists of installing two (2) Reduced Pressure Detector Assemblies (“RPDA”) and two (2) Post Indicator Valves (“PIV”) in accordance with all applicable codes, standards, and Authority Having Jurisdiction (“AHJ”) requirements.

The existing building fire protection water service is currently not equipped with any Reduced Pressure Detector Assemblies (RPDAs). In addition, the two (2) existing Post Indicator Valves (PIVs) serving the fire water system are to be removed and replaced due to age and/or nonconformance with current standards. In order to comply with current fire code and cross-connection control requirements, two (2) SCLA provided RPDAs will be installed on the fire water service. The scope of work includes removal and proper disposal of the existing PIVs and furnishing and installing two (2) new PIVs in accordance with applicable codes and standards. The installation of the RPDAs and replacement PIVs will provide proper backflow protection, reliable system isolation, and bring the fire protection system into compliance with all applicable local, state, and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements.
