Solicitation Summary
Frederick Community College (FCC) is seeking qualified firms to provide design and construction services for the Catoctin Hall Innovation & Technology Center project. The project includes constructing a 28,352 GSF addition and renovating 30,245 GSF of the existing Catoctin Hall to create a modern 79,695 GSF facility supporting Science, Biotechnology, Computing, Business, Technology, CEWD, and MACEM&PS programs. Planned spaces include laboratories, classrooms, collaboration areas, a simulated clean room, study and gathering spaces, and an Innovation Center serving FCC and community partners. The project will be designed to achieve LEED Silver certification.
The College is committed to a “partnering” approach for the successful design and construction of its projects. The College defines partnering as a collaboration among professionals (College, A/E, CMaR and Trade Contractors) to maximize the success of a project while understanding and respecting the responsibilities and expertise of each team member.
The College intends to enter into an agreement with a Construction Manager to provide Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) services with a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) to support the College in managing the design and construction processes. This solicitation (RFP) is specifically for the procurement of CMaR services as outlined herein. The College will separately contract with an architectural design firm for Architectural/Engineering (A/E) services.
