Timber Scaling

This Request for Proposal (RFP) is an invitation by the Government of Saskatchewan (GOS) to prospective Proponents to submit proposals for the provision of a business solution/service for the Ministry of Environment (ENV)’s Timber Scaling Service.

ENV’s Forest Service Branch regulates the timber industry and collects fees based on the volume of harvested timber. To deliver ENV’s timber scaling program, ENV is seeking an online, efficient, sector-proven technology that will quantify forest products, enabling the assessment of Crown timber dues and renewal fees based on volume. Forestry sector clients will share in these improvements such as software integration for automatic calculations for conversion values and other efficiencies. A new system aims to provide industry with an effective, fully functioning timber scaling system to greatly improve data integrity and eliminate manual calculations, data entry and error identifications.
