1.1 PROJECT INFORMATION
A. Notice: Qualified bidders are invited to submit proposals electronically via the PennBid Program (www.pennbid.net) for Project as described in this Document according to the Instructions to Bidders.
B. Project Identification: Unionville-Chadds Ford School District Outdoor Learning Projects - Rebid.

Chadds Ford Elementary School, 3 Baltimore Pike, Chadds Ford, PA 19317
D. Owner: Unionville-Chadds Ford School District, 740 Unionville Road, Kennett Square, PA 19348.
E. Architect: MAROTTA / MAIN ARCHITECTS, 214 North Duke Street Lancaster, PA 17602.

G. Project Description:
Outdoor learning pavilion structure, associated sitework, storm water, and electrical work at both schools.
Multiple Prime Contract Project consisting of the following prime contracts:
a. General Construction Contract
b. Electrical Construction Contract (NOT REBIDDING THIS CONTRACT)
1.2 CONTRACT DOCUMENTS
A. Specifications, drawings and other bidding information will be on file and open to public inspection at the office of the Architect, the District Administrative Offices and electronically on PennBid after 15 October 2025.
1.3 BID SUBMITTAL AND OPENING
A. Owner will receive proposals electronically via the PennBid Program until the time and date at the location indicated below. Owner will consider proposals prepared in compliance with the Instructions to Bidders issued by Owner, and delivered as follows:

1.4 BID SECURITY
A. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 10 percent (10%) of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days or 120 days if the bid award is delayed by the required approval of another government agency after opening of the bids. Failure to do so bidder agrees to forfeit to the Owner the attached cash, cashier’s check, certified check, U.S money order, or bid bond as liquidated damages for such failure after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities.
1.5 PRE-BID MEETING
A. Pre-bid Meeting: A mandatory Pre-bid meeting for all bidders will be held at the project site on 20 October 2025 at 10:00 a.m. local time, at the Unionville Elementary School, 1775 W. Doe Run Road, Kennett Square, PA 19348 followed by a site visit to Chadds Ford Elementary School, 3 Baltimore Pike, Chadds Ford, PA 19317.
B. Prime bidders are required to attend.
C. Bidders' Questions: Architect will provide responses at Pre-bid conference to bidders' questions received up to two (2) business days prior to conference.
1.6 DOCUMENTS
A. Digital Bid Documents: Bidding documents are available at no cost via the PennBid Program. 1.7 TIME OF COMPLETION
A. Successful bidder shall begin the procurement and submittal process on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time. Work is subject to liquidated damages.
Construction Start: 15 June 2026. Contractors to allow for fluctuation of three (3) business days in this date.
Substantial Completion: 14 August 2026
Full and Final Completion: 21 August 2026
1.8 BIDDER'S QUALIFICATIONS
A. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder.
B. AIA Document A305-2020 – “Contractor’s Qualification” statement shall be submitted with bids.
Only low bid contractors shall be required to submit financial statement.
1.9 NOTIFICATION
A. This Advertisement for Bids document is issued by the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District.
