The library is looking for quotes to replace three heat pumps in a geothermal system at the Kilton Public Library. The existing heat pumps are fourteen years old, and are reaching the end of their expected life. They are supplemented by a small propane boiler. The geothermal system as it is currently set up will not keep the building warm in a very cold winter without the supplemental heat from the propane boiler. The attachments include specs for the current heat pumps we have.
The Kilton Public Library is a LEED Gold building, so sustainability was built into the plans for it. If we could increase the efficiency of the system to be able to use the propane boiler less frequently, that would be ideal.
