The Department of Veterans Affairs, NCO 8, intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract under FAR 6.302 1, Only One Responsible Source, to QIAGEN LLC, Germantown, MD, for QuantiFERON (QFT) TB Gold Plus II reagents and controls used for Interferon Gamma Release Assay (IGRA) testing at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital (JAHVH).
The contract will be established as a five year BPA (Base Year + 4 Option Years). The applicable NAICS code is 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing), PSC 6640.
This notice is not a solicitation. No solicitation will be issued. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, as the required QuantiFERON TB Gold Plus II reagents are exclusively manufactured by QIAGEN and are uniquely compatible with the DiaSorin LIAISON XL analyzer currently in use at JAHVH.
Interested parties may submit capability statements demonstrating the ability to provide fully compatible supplies no later than 10:00 AM ET, August 28, 2026, to Quentin.Ford@va.gov. Proprietary information must be clearly marked. The Government will evaluate responses solely to determine whether competition is viable; however, a decision not to compete remains at the Government s discretion.

Statement of Need
QIAGEN QuantiFERON TB Gold Plus II Reagents and Controls
Overview:
The Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service at JAHVH requires FDA approved, DiaSorin compatible reagents and controls for QuantiFERON TB Gold Plus II testing to support in house IGRA testing for Veterans and employee TB screening.
Requirement Summary:
Provide QIAGEN QuantiFERON TB Gold Plus II reagents and controls fully compatible with the DiaSorin LIAISON XL analyzer.
Support continuous IGRA testing for clinical and occupational health needs.
Furnish monthly deliveries of required reagents; shipping included.
Supply products meeting CAP, JCAHO, and VA laboratory standards.
No site preparation required equipment already installed.
Routine daily maintenance and QC performed by VA staff.
Equipment maintenance is covered under a separate DiaSorin service contract.
