City of Fort Saskatchewan
The City of Fort Saskatchewan conducts an annual Neighbourhood Rehabilitation Program which consists of complete replacement of infrastructure within mature and deteriorated neighbourhoods. The scope includes sanitary and storm sewers, watermain infrastructure and a new surface cross section.
The 102 Street neighbourhood rehabilitation is a full reconstruction of 102 Street between 99 Avenue and 98 Avenue, with rehabilitation at the tie-ins at the intersection of 99 Avenue and 98 Avenue. The primary goal inherited under the program is to bring the existing infrastructure to the current standards and replace the deteriorated infrastructure.
102 Street is a collector roadway within the downtown core of Fort Saskatchewan. The road services both small commercial and residential buildings. The existing infrastructure was built in the 1950’s. The main intent is to upgrade all watermains to 300mm PVC and upgrade the sanitary line to 250mm PVC for commercial growth. There is no existing storm main on 102 Street but adjustments to the stormwater infrastructure is expected.
Work will generally include, but is not limited to:
• Temporary traffic control
• PVC sanitary gravity main install with new manholes
• PVC storm main with new manholes
• PVC watermain and equipment
• Service reconnections
• Asphalt Paving
• Concrete Walk including curb & gutters and parking bays
• Mill and overlay
• Landscaping and tree planting
