The COUNTY OF BENTON solicits interest from consulting firms with expertise in Civil and Structural Engineering Design. This agreement will be for approximately nine months in duration with the option for the County of Benton to extend it for additional time and money if necessary. Consultants will be considered for the following project.

The County of Benton reserves the right to amend terms of this "Request for Qualifications" (RFQ) to circulate various addenda, or to withdraw the RFQ at any time, regardless of how much time and effort consultants have spent on their responses.

Project Description

The work to be performed by the CONSULTANT consists of preparing Plans, Specifications and Estimate for improvements to District Line Bridge. The proposed improvements include the evaluation and inspection of the existing wearing course and decking of the bridge, the design of a new wearing surface, retrofit of a guardrail system, upgrades of bridge approach slabs, and load ratings for proposed upgrades upon final construction of the improvements. The major features of the project are as follows:

• Evaluation and inspection of the existing wearing course and bridge deck,
• Recommendations for any required improvements to the bridge deck,
• Design of a new guardrail system to be retrofitted to existing bridge and approaches,
• Environmental documentation and preparation of permit applications,
• Design of approach slabs,
• Load ratings to meet state and FHWA standards,
• Review of any required shop drawings and construction assistance.
