| Contract Description/Overview: | The BCSO-2 Bellaire Tunnel and BC Regulators project is one of a group of projects that constitute the Big Creek Tunnel (BCT) project. The BCT project is NEORSD's final large diameter combined sewer overflow (CSO) storage tunnel that will reduce the CSO released into Big Creek and its tributaries by 580 million gallons annually. The BCSO-2 project includes the Bellaire Tunnel, a 2,285-foot long by 72-inch finished diameter tunnel built in rock under Bellaire Road between Cress Road and West 120th Street. New underground structures associated with the tunnel include two flow diversion structures, a gate and screen structure, a flow drop shaft and a gate control vault. The project also includes the modification or rebuild of numerous existing flow regulators and the repair or upsizing of some existing sewer segments. |
