The project area is a 1-mile-long corridor of Main Street (Route 114), from the Bristol Town line to the intersection of Main Street and Wheaton Street. The work includes mill & overlay resurfacing of the roadway pavement; replacement of existing sidewalks, driveway aprons and wheelchair ramps on both sides of the roadway; curb replacement and resetting, signal replacement at the Campbell street intersection; signing and striping improvements to enhance vehicular and pedestrian safety; and removal of existing trees (selected by arborist) and planting of new street trees. A significant portion of the existing drainage system within existing sidewalk areas will also be replaced and relocated within the roadway shoulder, along with the addition of new water quality treatment structures.
