Deliveries shall be F.O.B Destination. Overview: The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) is requesting bids to establish a price based contract for materials to be ordered as needed for 3/8" Limestone Chips and Erosion Stone delivered at DOT garages in District 3. Specifications: The DOT is requesting bids for 3/8" Limestone Chips per Standard Specifications Section 4125 and Erosion Stone per Standard Specifications Section 4130.03-4130.05. The testing shall be done prior to delivery. Material shall be delivered to the site and dumped where directed by the District Maintenance Manager or designee. Contract Award: Award will be by line item. It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. The Iowa DOT reserves the right to select the delivery point or points and their geographical locations and the number of delivery points and tonnage of aggregate awarded to any one bidder. Previous performance will be a factor in determining the amount of lane miles awarded to any one contractor. Contract Period The Contractor will be awarded a one (1) year contract with an option to renew for five (5) additional years in twelve (12) month increments. Contract Dates: Start date: November 6, 2024 Contract end date: November 5, 2025 Materials may be ordered on an "as needed" basis. No guarantee on quantities as this is unknown at this time. Order quantities and delivery instructions will be provided by location ordering product . Contracted suppliers must provide contact name and phone number for ordering locations awarded. Field offices will process invoices for payment. Invoices are to be emailed to locations requesting product. A list of contacts and email addresses will be provided to the contracted vendors. Delivery Requirements The material shall be delivered to the Iowa DOT destination(s) between 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on normal working days Monday through Friday (summer hours could vary), with a notification of delivery phone call 24 hours prior to delivery. Delivery Period Delivery period of each order shall be within ten working days after order has been placed. If within 20 days the product is not available, the Iowa DOT has the right to purchase the material from another source. Iowa DOT Public Bid Opening is at 1:00 pm CST October 25, 2024.
