Trinidad Animal Shelter Mono-Slope Pavilion Project

The City of Trinidad is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the fabrication and construction of three (3) steel mono-slope pavilions at the Trinidad Animal Shelter.

Bid Schedule

Mandatory Pre-Bid Walk-Through Date: Wednesday, July 8, 2026 Time: 10:00 A.M.

All prospective bidders shall attend the mandatory pre-bid walk-through. Failure to attend may result in the bid being deemed non-responsive.

Bid Due Date Thursday, July 23, 2026 Time: 2:00 P.M. (or specify preferred time)

Project Description

The work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, permits, supervision, and incidentals necessary to construct three (3) free-standing steel mono-slope animal shelter pavilions in accordance with the attached drawings and these specifications.

Contractor shall field verify all dimensions prior to fabrication.

Scope of Work

Pavilion No. 1 & No. 2

Overall Size: 31'-0" Long × 10'-6" Wide

Structural Framing

· All framing members shall be 3" × 2" rectangular steel tubing.

· Install five (5) vertical posts on each side mounted to the existing concrete slab.

· Posts shall be spaced approximately 7'-9" apart.

· Rear posts shall be 7'-6" above existing slab.

· Front posts shall be 7'-0" above existing curb creating the required roof slope.

· Install header beams across the tops of the posts.

· Install rafter beams running from front to rear.

· Install two (2) rows of center purlins spaced approximately 4 feet apart.

Roofing

· Install approximately eleven (11) 29-gauge Classic Rib Pro galvanized roof panels.

· Install all required ridge, edge, trim, closure strips, and fasteners as required by manufacturer.

Finish

· Prime and paint all exposed steel tubing to match the existing pavilion color.

Pavilion No. 3

Overall Size: 21'-0" Long × 10'-6" Wide

Structural Framing

· All framing members shall be 3" × 2" rectangular steel tubing.

· Install four (4) vertical posts on each side mounted to the existing concrete slab.

· Posts shall be spaced approximately 7 feet apart.

· Install header beams across the tops of posts.

· Install rafter beams from front to rear.

· Install two (2) rows of center purlins spaced approximately 4 feet apart.

Roofing

· Install approximately seven (7) 29-gauge Classic Rib Pro galvanized roof panels.

· Install all required trim, closures, and fasteners.

Finish

· Prime and paint all exposed steel tubing to match the existing pavilion color.

Material Specifications

Unless otherwise approved by the City:

· 3" × 2" rectangular steel tubing

· 29-gauge Classic Rib Pro galvanized roof panels

· Concrete anchor bolts as shown in the drawings

· Steel base plates

· Structural welding meeting AWS standards

· Exterior-grade metal primer and finish coat

Contractor Responsibilities

The successful bidder shall:

· Verify all existing field conditions and dimensions.

· Protect existing concrete, fencing, and improvements.

· Provide all labor, equipment, materials, and supervision.

· Remove all construction debris daily.

· Restore any damaged areas caused by construction.

· Comply with all OSHA safety regulations.

· Obtain any permits required by the City.

· Coordinate work with City staff.

Warranty

Contractor shall provide:

· One (1) year workmanship warranty.

· Manufacturer warranties on roofing materials and coatings.

Bid Requirements

Bid shall include:

· Total lump sum price.

· Estimated project schedule.

· Contractor references.

· Proof of insurance.

· W-9.

· Applicable contractor licenses.

· List of subcontractors (if applicable).

Award

The City of Trinidad reserves the right to:

· Reject any or all bids.

· Waive informalities or irregularities.

· Award the contract in the best interest of the City.

The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder meeting all specifications.
