Description

Woodlands County (the “County”) seeks proposals from interested parties (“Proposals”) for the following:
Bridge Engineering Services – Three Year Standing Offer Agreement

The term of the assignment is for three years with a potential for a two-year extension. At the end of the term Woodlands County may extend the agreement to the Proponent to complete work already commenced under the agreement.

Woodlands County wishes to select one firm to provide engineering services for bridge projects and other engineering assignments related to public works, which may come up during the next few years. This will be a standing offer and Woodlands County will negotiate work plans with the successful proponent based on the rates and fees submitted in the proposal for projects as they arise.

County generally follows ATEC’s engineering consulting guidelines, standard specifications and general conditions, with some revisions.

BIM (Bridge Inspection Maintenance) Program
a) Provide Bridge Inspections as required following Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridor Guidelines. The cost for this section should be based on a per “BIM” basis including all travel and reporting. Consultant can arrange inspections convenient to Consultant’s work planning.
b) Review the list of bridge files maintained by County.
c) Monthly progress meetings to review all bridge projects.

Bridge Assessments
a) Prepare assessments for County structures.

Bridge Maintenance Tender
a) Bridge maintenance may be conducted utilizing a bridge maintenance tender.
b) Determine how each maintenance item will be delivered.
c) Prepare a bridge tender to construct the tendered repairs.
d) Design, Tender, and Construction Supervision of the bridge maintenance contract.

Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation Design, Tender, Construction Supervision, and Post Construction Services.
a) Each individual replacement or rehabilitation assignment will be added to the Engineering Agreement depending upon the unique circumstances of the bridge. The consultant may supply a base spreadsheet of fees when assigned work.
b) Each spreadsheet should include Site survey, Land Agent services, hydrology assessment if required, environmental permits, preliminary design, detailed design, tendering, construction supervision to Alberta Transportation standards, and post construction services.
