(As a precautionary measure due to COVID-19), the City will hold all Bid Opening Meetings via conference call or
video conference only until further notice.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
This project is part of the Far East SIA project. This project will install approximately 4.1 miles of 48 count single-
mode fiber optic cable installed in new directionally bored, hand dug and trenched conduit, existing conduit and
aerial attachments to poles. This project includes entrances and interconnect equipment for four existing traffic
control cabinets and the installation of four traffic management cameras.
The project limits are Harrisburg Road between Pence Road and Mecklenburg Shrine Club and Robinson Church
Road between Harrisburg Road and Hood Road in in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, NC.
This project also includes fiber splicing, testing, Ethernet equipment communications, and traffic management
cameras and equipment.
Bidding documents, which includes a downloadable copy of one (1) Project Manual and one (1) full-size Drawing
set, are available for free from the Procurement Portal.
Bidders must be properly licensed under North Carolina state law to perform the work.
A 5% bid security is required with each bid that equals or exceeds $300,000.
A 5% bid security is required with each bid that equals or exceeds $100,000.
The estimated cost of this Project is between $500,000 - $999,999

CONFIDENTIAL RESTRICTED DATA: Interested bidders must complete and sign the Restricted Data Confidentiality
