REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
LAND SEARCH FOR THE NEW AROOSTOOK COUNTY JAIL
The County of Aroostook is soliciting proposals for a parcel of land to construct a new
County Jail.
All submitted properties must adhere to the following minimum requirements.
Scope: The County of Aroostook, Maine is looking for a parcel of land to construct a new
County Jail.
The parcel requirements are as follows:
• Minimum of 15 acres of relatively level developable land
• Served by, or convenient access to, municipal water and sewer services
• Access to three-phase power
• Access to high-speed internet
• Access to the site must be gained from a paved city/town road or State Highway
• The preferred locations are generally as follows:
o Along the U.S. Route 1 corridor, within 15 miles of Route 1, from Hodgdon to
the south and the intersection of Route 1 and Edmond Road in Caribou to
the north
• Improved properties with easily demolished buildings could be considered
• All proposals should include if available
o A current site and/or survey, both are preferred
o Any known Deed Covenants or Restrictions that impact the property
o Copies of state permits and any local permit requirements
o A copy of the Deed
o Environmental Site Assessments
Public entities are also encouraged to respond.

Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope, clearly marked “County of Aroostook –
County Jail Land Search”, and delivered or e-mailed by the above due date.
