This Invitation for Bids (IFB) is to establish a price Contract with firms that are registered under the County’s Local Small Business Reserve Program (LSBRP) and are able and willing to perform various tree maintenance operations and/or removal of trees and stumps located within the political boundaries of Montgomery County, Maryland. Upon request by the County, the Contractor must provide services for various tree maintenance operations and/or removal of trees located on the publicly maintained rights-of-way, on other publicly owned properties, or private property as specifically directed by the Contract Administrator or Designee, within Montgomery County, Maryland. Work to be performed under the terms of this Contract includes but is not limited to the removal of dead, dying or diseased trees; the correction of structural defects, crown cleaning, crown raising, crown thinning, and stump removal.
The County's Requests for Services may consist of individual or multiple locations. While situations may arise where the Contractor is requested to service an individual location, it is the County's intent to provide the Contractor with listings of multiple locations.
All pruning, trimming, tree removal, and disposal of waste from tree work performed under this contract must comply strictly with all pertinent County, State, and Federal regulations, and all pertinent American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards. The disposal of waste (wood, wood chips) under this contract is the Contractor's responsibility, and costs of such disposal must be included in the unit rate for the bid items. At the discretion of the Contract Administrator, the contractor may dispose of an agreed-upon quantity of wood waste at approved county depots or other facilities. The Contractor will use the County's Roadside Tree Blanket Permit when performing work under the contract. The Contractor will obtain and maintain all other necessary permits, licenses, etc.
