The purpose of this solicitation is to establish a purchase requirement for Polaris Ranger XD 1500 Premium UTVs (11 units) and for Polaris Ranger Crew XD1500 Premium UTV (1 unit) for use by the Virginia Department of Forestry, Agencies, and other Public Bodies of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Units must be the exact make and model specified. No substitutions or like equivalents will be accepted for this solicitation. The required UTVs are largely cross compatible with DOF's existing inventory of Polaris Rangers. Like equivalents would require retraining and could lead to safety issues during emergency wildfire response due to differences in functionality.
