PURPOSE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT: This announcement constitutes a pre-solicitation announcement of a proposed contract action pursuant to FAR 5.204. This is not a solicitation. No response is requested at this time. A formal solicitation will follow this announcement with full details, including a response deadline, the complete price proposal schedule, the construction plans and specifications, instructions to offerors, and the evaluation factors/basis for award. OFFERORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MONITORING THIS WEBSITE FOR CHANGES TO THIS NOTICE AND THE FORMAL SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT.PLANNED SOLICITATION: The final Solicitation for this project will be announced anytime between 15 and 30 days after the posting of this pre-solicitation. The contract type will be firm-fixed-price. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The purpose of this project is for the demolition and replacement of the USGS Gage Platform 2. The new platform shall have land access for USGS and USACE personnel via a single personnel access walkway connecting the land to the platform. The existing platform and land access for pedestrians are constructed with pressure treated lumber supported on timber piles. This work is located in Saint Stephen, SC 29479. MAGNITUDE OF WORK: $500,000 and $1,000,000. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code: 237990 Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction with a SBA Small Business Size of $45,000,000.The contractor must be registered in WWW.SAM.GOV prior to award of the solicitation.
