The Town of Yarmouth is requesting sealed bids from qualified contractors to provide Water Division VFD Inspection, Maintenance, and Repair Services. Bids will be received at the Office of the Town Administrator, Town Hall, 1146 Route 28, South Yarmouth, MA 02664, until 3:00 PM on August 14, 2025.
The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, annual inspection and maintenance of variable frequency drives (VFDs), on-call troubleshooting and repair of VFD and related electrical equipment, and furnishing of approved replacement parts for the Yarmouth Water Division’s well pumping stations.
Bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked:
“BID ENCLOSED FOR – WATER DIVISION VFD INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE, AND REPAIR SERVICES.”

To receive consideration, Bids must be submitted on the appropriate forms no later than the above date and time schedule for the opening. Bids submitted on forms other than those specified in the IFB package will be rejected without further consideration. Bids must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid Price in the form of a bid bond or certified treasurer’s or cashier’s check issued by a responsible bank or trust company. If upon acceptance of the bid, a Bidder fails to enter into a contract with the Town of Yarmouth, the bid security shall be forfeited to and become the property of the Town.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment Bond equal to fifty percent (50%) of the contract amount.
Liquidated damages of $500 per calendar day shall apply for failure to meet substantial completion and final completion deadlines.
The bidding and award of this Contract will be under the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30, §39M.
Prevailing Wage Rates, as determined by the Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards and effective as of August 18, 2025, apply to this project. Contractors must submit weekly certified payrolls and ensure all on-site workers have completed OSHA 10 training, in accordance with M.G.L. c. 30 §39S.
The Town of Yarmouth reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any formalities that appear to be in the best interest of the Town.
