The Town of Amherst invites sealed bids for the slate roof repair and snow guard installation at the Munson Memorial Library Building. Invitation for Bids may be obtained online at
www.amherstma.gov/bids
.
An optional Pre-Bid conference will be held on April 01, 2025 at 10am at the Munson Memorial Library – 1046 South East Street Amherst, MA. All bidders are invited to attend.
Bids shall be submitted no later than 2:00 p.m. on April 10, 2025, to the Town of Amherst’s Accountant’s Office where the bids will be publicly opened and recorded at that time.
The Town of Amherst reserves the right to reject any and all bids in whole or in part, and to waive informalities, when at its sole discretion is deemed to be in the best interests of the Town and to the extent permitted by law.

Qualifications:
|
|
Firm must have at least ten (10) years of experience and a proven track record of high quality, professional work in the installation of slate roofing and snow retention equipment.
Firm must have three (3) references who can document his or her successful completion of projects in the State of Massachusetts.
|
|
Special Requirements:
|
|
All work on the Munson Memorial Library Building roof must be in keeping with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation of Historic Buildings.
All work must be performed in strict accordance with applicable codes and ordinances. It is the responsibility of the contractor to familiarize themselves with the code requirements and perform all work accordingly.
